Acoustic design and analyses of a double Skin Façade system

Noise insulation in buildings is an important topic building acoustics. Existing literature shows a clear lack of simulation tools for the design, analysis, and assessment sound performance structures, especially when frequency interest becomes higher. To tackle this problem, numerical based Condensed Transfer Function (CTF) method, alongside piecewise calculation scheme, adapted to investigate simplified Double Skin Façade (DSF) system. Embracing sub-structuring philosophy, method offers appealing alternative existing analyses ones terms providing enhanced computational efficiency enriched physical description Numerical reveal dominant transmission paths into typical receiving room. Meanwhile, as reduction devices, microperforated panels are investigated two arrangements, triggering different absorption behaviors design principles.
